The Nashville Predators started slow out of the gate and come into this game with a record of 5-9-2. The Edmonton Oilers also started slow but have turned it around and are 8-7-1. The Panthers major problem is when they go on the road. They have posted a 1-3-2 record in six games away from home this year. Their offense is struggling to find the back of the net, averaging just 2.44 goals a game, which ranks 29th. On the defensive end, they rank 23rd in the league in goals allowed with 3.31. Edmonton has won six of their last nine games but are just 3-5-1 at home. Edmonton is 23rd in goals scored. The Oilers are 7-3, including three straight in their last 10 games against the Preds. Overall, the Oilers have won four of their last six games while the Predators lost four of their last five games. Both defenses are suspect but the Oilers have dramaticaly more offensive firepower. Take the Oilers in this one.

Once again, the Dallas Stars are getting it done on the defensive end and in the net. The Stars rank second in goals against per game this season and are fifth in shots against. Netminder Jake Oettinger is 7-3-0 with a 2.44 GAA and .914 SV%. Dallas’ offense has scored three or more goals in six of their last nine games. The Stars rank 15th in goals per game and 15th in shots per game. Boston’s offense has been poor so far this season. They scored three or fewer goals in eight of their last 10 games. The Bruins rank 25th in goals per game and 22nd in shots per game. On the defensive end, they rank 20th in goals against per game and 18th in shots against per game. We know Dallas can be stingy with allowing goals and with Bostons inability to score the defense will need to step up. I am looking for a low scoring game and am on the under.

The New Jersey Devils come into this game with the Florida Panthers,1st in Metropolitan Division with an 11-6-2 record. The Florida Panthers are 11-4-1 and 1st in the Atlantic Division. The Devils have won four of their last five and the Panthers have won seven of their last eight.  The Devils beat the Panthers 4-1 in Florida earlier this week. New Jersey has limited their opponent to three goals or less in eight straight. In that loss to New Jersey, Florida saw their seven-game win streak come to an end. The Panthers have won three of their last five games with the Devils. Florida has been good on the defensive end, with their netminders allowing three goals or less in four of their last  seven meetings with the Devils. Bobrovsky will get the start in this one for FLorida. He is 8-2-1 with a 2.95 GAA plus an .895 save percentage on the season. The Devils won the first game, but that was against Knight, tonight will be a different story with Bobrovsky in net.

Play on Florida. This is a 4% play

We have a NFC East showdown between the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles. Washington has started fast and is 7-3 over the first 10 games. Jaydon Daniels has thrown for 2,147 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also added 464 yards on the ground. On the defensive side, they are giving up 21.7 points per game which ranks 12th and the rank 14th in yards given up. After a sluggish start, the Eagles have won five in a row and are 7-2 on the season. Jalen Hurts has thrown for 1,976 yards with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. Saquon Barkley has rushed for 991 yards and six touchdowns. On the defensive side, they are second in yards per game and fifth in points per game at 17.9. During their winning streak, the Eagles have won by four or more points. Both teams are in playoff position and are battling for the division as well. Daniels is a rookie and this will be his first Thursday night game and it is on the road in Philly. Philly has the edge on the offensive and defensive lines and I look for them to pull out a home win.
