Baltimore led the league in rushing a year ago and are averaging over 170 rushing yards through 2 games. Kansas City is giving up over 150 yards on the ground per game and will struggle to match up with the Ravens multifaceted attack.

With that being said, I can’t help but feel that we’re dealing with an inflated total on Monday Night Football. Scoring is way up in the NFL, to the point that totals set in the mid-50’s have become the norm. The thing is, I have a lot of respect for both of the defenses in Monday night’s big showdown between the Chiefs and Ravens. The last two meetings between these two teams over the last two seasons have both been high-scoring, but not exorbitantly so. Here, I do expect to see a lot of long, clock-churning drives, noting that Baltimore’s defense in particular has done an excellent job of preventing big plays, which is obviously the Chiefs M.O. on offense. Look for a tightly-contested affair that proves lower-scoring than most anticipate. Take the under (8*).
