PICKS IN PROGRESS
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Memphis Grizzlies + the points over Golden State. The Warriors come into this game off a 42-point blowout of the Spurs. And they also bested Memphis when these teams last met, 121-113, in San Francisco. We'll fade GSW, as it is 42-95 ATS off a point spread win, if its opponent was playing with revenge. Take Memphis as a home underdog. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Portland Trail Blazers + the points over Atlanta. The Hawks upset the Milwaukee Bucks, 145-124, as a 4-point underdog on Sunday. We'll fade Atlanta tonight, as it is 6-26 ATS off an upset win as a 4-point (or greater) underdog, when matched-up against a foe off a SU/ATS loss (including 0-14 ATS if the Hawks' win percentage was greater than .460). Take Portland.
At 10 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets minus the points over Minnesota. The Nuggets play this game with double-revenge from two losses to the T-Wolves. I like Denver as a small home favorite, as it's 7-2-1 ATS its last 10 (and 46-28-2 ATS its last 76) games where it was playing with double-revenge. Meanwhile, Minnesota is a dreadful 42-76 ATS in games between .500 (or better) teams when the T-Wolves won the season's prior meeting by more than 8 points. Take Denver. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
At 7:30 pm, our selection is on the Phoenix Suns + the points over Milwaukee. The Bucks are laying a big number tonight to Phoenix. We'll side with the Underdog Suns, as Milwaukee is a wallet-busting 30-53-3 ATS as a home favorite of -7 or more points. And Phoenix is a solid 16-7 ATS off 3 (or more) SU/ATS losses. Take the Suns + the points.
At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Philadelphia 76ers + the points over New York. The Sixers have been a horrible team this year against the spread, as they're 26-47-2 ATS. But when one delves deeper into the numbers, they're exceptionally bad as a favorite (7-18 ATS) and as an underdog of +6 or less (4-18 ATS). When Philly has gotten more than 6 points, they've gone 15-11-1 ATS. Tonight, they're catching double-digits from the Knicks, who are 88-117-4 ATS when laying 9+ points, including 18-39-3 ATS inside the division. Take Philadelphia. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the Loyola Chicago Ramblers minus the points over UT-Chattanooga. The Mocs enter this semi-final game off 3 straight upset wins, as they knocked off Middle Tennessee, Dayton, and Bradley. Meanwhile, the Ramblers opened the Tourney with road wins over San Jose St. and San Francisco, before returning home to bomb Kent State, 72-62. I like Loyola in this match-up, and will fade Chattanooga off its trio of upset wins. Indeed, NIT Tourney teams have cashed just 30 percent off 3 upset wins since 1990. Additionally, the Ramblers are 37-15 ATS vs. foes off upset wins, including a perfect 10-0 ATS vs. non-conference foes when Loyola was not laying more than 6 points. And Chattanooga is 15-26 ATS as an underdog off an upset win. Lay the points with the Ramblers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
